On Friday, November 21st, The Carmelo Anthony Foundation provided complete Thanksgiving dinners for roughly 400 underserved families living in Baltimore, Md. During the Foundation’s 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Day of Sharing, each family received a turkey, beverages, rolls, a box of non-perishable food items and a personal care box that included items such as soap, deodorant, etc. The event took place at Robert C. Marshall Center in Baltimore, MD. Carmelo grew up playing basketball and participating in other programs at Robert C. Marshall as the facility served as his neighborhood rec. center for 14 years.
Families also wrote personal messages to Carmelo on large posters that were on display at the center. Since the event’s inception, more than 1,000 families in Baltimore City have received a nourishing and comforting Thanksgiving dinner thanks to The Carmelo Anthony Foundation.
This annual event is an important piece of Carmelo’s commitment to positively impacting his hometown of Baltimore. His mother, Miss Mary, serves as the driving force behind this event and was on hand to distribute the turkeys and packages to each family. The Foundation thanks Downtown Locker Room, Feed The Children, H&S Bakery and Miller’s Minuteman Press for their support of the 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Day of Sharing.
