Melo’s standing as one of the elite players in the NBA continues as he was today named to the All-NBA Third Team, joining fellow Nugget Chauncey Billups. During the regular season, Melo started all 66 games in which he played and led the Nuggets in scoring with 22.8 ppg. He was a key reason the team won the Northwest Division title and made the Western Conference playoffs. The All-NBA Teams were chosen by a panel of 122 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.

Melo’s leadership and excellent play continued in the first round of the playoffs as he helped lead the Nuggets past the New Orleans Hornets in commanding style, 4-1. Melo and the Nuggets eliminated Dallas on May 13th to advance to the Western Conference Finals. In the playoffs, Melo leads the Nuggets with 27 ppg – an average that has him tied for fifth in the NBA in playoff scoring.
